Rewarding ourselves for a successful week of health… with sugar and fat.
First the ginger snaps, only Lisa has the palate of a toddler so we removed the ginger. Creating a beautiful, buttery, crisp biscuit… Which really feels like all it’s missing is a little ginger. Made with butter rather than margerine.
They are very tasty though. A great dunking biscuit.
The chewy cookies are off the sort you would purchase in a paper bag, full of butter and sugar. Sort of failed cakes in which the sugar cools and condenses to form a soft but chewy monstrosity. Write chocolate used based on what was in the cupboard.
The cookies needed slightly less time… Barely more than 10 or 12. These had 14, 15. I’d also be very tempted to increase the proportion of flour to make them a little more doughy.
